Starting to watch these guys getting ready for March Madness. 4 guys over 6'11". I have to look into their Free Throw problems. That is a key stat for me in picking my Final Four. Anyone in the Southeast have some insight on this? Teams that don't shoot FTs well usually aren't disciplined and their HoopsIQ is not high.

Well, free throws certainly hurt Memphis last year. In fact, I'll be posting an article in the coming days that analyzes the attributes that lead to tourney overachievement. Free throws is on the list, but certainly not one of the key performance indicators. For Wake Forest, I'd be more concerned with Gaudio's lack of tourney experience. Rookie coaches at the dance don't fare well. The only one to cut down the nets is Steve Fisher- - and his circumstances with Michigan in '89 were unusual. He basically took over a veteran team coached all year by Bill Frieder, who skated to Arizona State before the tourney.
